1. Scope
This policy applies to the PDF & Word Template Filler browser extension. It describes how the extension handles information when you install and use it. This policy does not govern the separate privacy practices of Google Chrome, the Chrome Web Store, Cloudflare or other third-party services.
2. Information the extension handles
Depending on the features you use, information stored locally by the extension may include:
- PDF and Word (.docx) template files that you import.
- Field names, field positions, template settings, groups, favourites and template versions.
- Information you enter into document fields, including names, contact details, dates, signatures and images.
- Customer and Internal data profiles, custom fields, functions and formulas.
- Generated documents and related local history, drafts and interface preferences.
- CSV, Excel (.xlsx) or Word (.docx) data that you select for bulk generation while the task is being processed.
3. How information is processed and stored
The extension performs document processing in the browser. Its current implementation stores template records, profiles, drafts, signatures, generated history and related records in the browser's extension IndexedDB storage, and stores interface preferences in Chrome local extension storage.
Files are processed on your device for template configuration, field placement, data mapping, validation, preview and document generation. Generated files are offered for download through the browser.
The extension's current manifest requests the storage and downloads permissions and does not declare website host permissions. The extension does not require you to create an account.
4. Sharing and sale
The extension does not transmit the documents or document data you select to a developer-operated remote processing service. The developer does not receive your template contents, form entries, profiles, signatures or generated files through the extension. We do not sell personal information collected through the extension.
5. Retention and deletion
Your extension data remains in the browser profile until you delete it through the extension's available controls, clear the relevant browser extension data, remove the extension or otherwise remove the Chrome profile data. Generated-history retention settings may also be used to remove older generated files from local history.
Removing the extension or clearing browser data may make locally stored templates and records unavailable. Export a backup before making changes if you need to preserve your work.
6. Backups and sensitive information
The backup feature can export templates, original documents, generated records, data profiles, saved signatures, drafts, custom fields and settings into a ZIP file. A backup may contain personal, confidential or business-sensitive information. Store it securely, limit access to it and delete copies when they are no longer needed. Anyone with access to an unprotected backup may be able to inspect its contents.
7. Security
Local processing reduces the need to transmit document contents to a remote service, but it does not remove all security risks. Protect your computer and Chrome profile with appropriate device security, keep Chrome updated, and avoid sharing exported backups or generated documents with unauthorised people.
8. Children's privacy
The extension is a general productivity tool and is not designed specifically for children. Do not use it to process children's personal information unless you have an appropriate lawful basis and the necessary permissions.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the extension's features or data practices change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. Review it periodically, particularly after installing a major update.
